WHEEL THROWING WORKSHOPS

ALL CLASSES ARE DESIGNED FOR ADULT PARTICIPANTS

NO PREVIOUS CERAMICS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1 DAY WORSHOP

$150 non-members ($130 members)

SUNDAY 30th MARCH (10.00am – 3.30pm)

This is an excellent taster workshop designed for the beginner who would like to have a go
on the potter’s wheel, and makers with previous experience looking to refresh their skills.

You will be introduced to the steps and techniques to make bowls and cylinders;
centering, opening, pulling walls, and creating form.

With demonstrations and plenty of one on one time with the instructor, you will be
making your own wheel-thrown pottery in no time to take home, use and enjoy.

The workshop is held in a friendly and supportive studio, with a maximum of 5 participants.

We will glaze your favourite creations for you (fee $10 per piece) or alternatively you can
enrol in a separate 3 hour glazing workshop and learn to decorate and glaze your pottery.

Fees include 5 hour workshop, tuition, clay, and bisque firing

2 DAY WORKSHOP

$240 non-members ($220 members)

SUNDAYS 29th JUNE & 6th JULY (10.00am – 3.30pm)

This is an excellent 2 day taster workshop designed for the beginner who would like to
have a go on the potter’s wheel, and makers with previous experience looking to refresh their skills.

This is an excellent course for the total beginner wanting to try their hand at throwing
on the potter’s wheel for the first time, and the maker with previous experience looking to refresh their skills.

The complete cycle of creating pottery on the potter’s wheel will be introduced to
you – centering, opening, pulling walls, creating form, trimming, surface decoration and glazing.

You will start by learning to make functional pottery forms such as mugs, bowls and vases.

As you progress your skills you will discover the art of bringing clay into form is a highly satisfying and rewarding journey.

Our small class size of 5 ensures plenty of individual guidance.

Fees include 5 x 3 hour weekly lessons, one 10kg bag of stoneware clay, glazes, bisque and glaze firing.
